Even if CPT® guidelines state that all lesion excision codes include simple

wound closure, it allows separate coding for intermediate (12031-12057) and complex (13100-13153) repairs.

Adjacent tissue transfer or rearrangement procedures include excision (CPT c

odes 11400-11646) and repair (12001-13160). Thus, CPT codes 11400-11646 and 12001-13160 should not be reported separately with CPT codes 14000-14350 for the same lesion or
