Marshall Code 100 Review

100 W 2 x 12 Guitar Combo Amp and it is amazing. I have been using a Peavy amp for years and decided to buy this amp because the Peavy is very old. The difference in the sound quality is awesome!

tching cabinet and am super happy with it. Can"t compare the amp to a tube sound because that"s not fair, but as far as modeling amps I personally wouldn"t want any other amp. Only recommendation I can make would be to get the foot switch made for this amp.

The Code100 has a great selection of editable presets that you can select an

d modify, whether from the front panel, or via the app. I think that selection is one of the real strong points of this amp.

So all the stores are clearancing the Marshall CODE 100 Heads and Combos for

$249 or $299, so I figure, for the price of a pedal (and $100 less than used ones are selling on CL), I'd pick one up. This one came from Amazon, and was shipped by a company called GearNuts.

Recently I was able to check out two of the most promising budget/modeling c

ombo amps released in 2016. The BOSS Katana (100 watt combo) and the Marshall CODE (50 watt combo). Both of these amps have been backordered and hard to come by via the online stores practically ever since their respective releases.

The Marshall CODE 50 - it's loud, its got a huge sound and there are a lot o

The Code 100 through a 1960A with Celestion G12-75 speakers, sounds good, bu

t not best in my opinion. The Code 100 through a 2x12 with Celestion Vintage 30's sounds best in my opinion! My current set up is the Code 100 head on top of a vertical MX212A cabinet. The MX212a 70/80 speakers were removed, and the Vintage 30 speakers installed.

I use a Marshall JCM 800 with a 1960A cab at gigs, and that is probably the

only other amp I have ever used that I couldn't replace with the CODE 100. But before I head to the individual assessments of this review, it is only fair and honest for me to point out any negatives that I have found, which will be short because there is only one.

Exchanged a Vox Vt100x for a Marshall Code 50. The Vox was a good amp, but k

inda hard for me to navigate on. The Marshall is much easier for me and sounds great. Great sounds on the presets too!
