Sims 3 Generations Redeem Code

If you purchased a digital version of The Sims 3 (base game, expansion pack,

or stuff pack) from Origin, your game is automatically registered to your account. You do not need to re-register your serial code with TheSims3.com.

Everything went well until I tried redeeming my Sims 3: Generations serial c

ode. I enter it and it says "This code has already been used." What? I am the only person who has used this copy of the game. I haven't registered it on The Sims 3 Store either, so I don't get what could be the problem.

I purchased the above expansion packs. Origin emailed me the serial numbers

for both expansion packs. When I try to register the codes, it says they are invalid. I even copied and pasted from the email. Can you please assist me with this as I can get free content when the game is registered.
